I am a writer, editor, teacher, historian, and mom to four boys. I love to read, sing, draw, compose, write, and create.
Education is one of my passions, particularly a classical, liberal arts education. I have taught English composition and grammar, Latin, history, music, and various other subjects for ten years at both the elementary and secondary level.
History and historical fiction has always been my genre of choice, both to read and to write. My favorite historical novels are Katherine by Anya Seton, The Mark of the Horse Lord by Rosemary Sutcliff, and The King Must Die by Mary Renault. My favorite historical series are the Falco books by Lindsey Davis and the Aubrey/Maturin books by Patrick O’Brien.
My first book, I Serve: A Novel of the Black Prince, tells the story of a young knight caught in the throes of the Hundred Years’ War and the Black Death, pulled two different ways by love and honor.
My Regency romance, To Wed an Heiress, takes people and events from the Norman Conquest and transposes them into a lighthearted murder mystery set during the early 1800s. My second Regency, The Duke’s Last Hunt, takes the events surrounding William Rufus’ death in the New Forest and relocates them to a country manor where a shy heroine is being pursued by a rakish duke.
My husband and I own Madison Street Publishing (“where the story is the bottom line”) and have published a variety of fiction and nonfiction works.
